In the partner portal, open an instance and choose Configuration > System. Inside the instance, administrators find the same page under Platform settings > System configuration. The settings page is divided into sections. This article covers the first five. The others are described in Features, Meeting room and webinar, Sign-in and security and AI, custom tools and add-ons.
Every setting starts from a default. You only change what should differ, and a value you leave alone follows the level above you. See Inheritance and locks.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Product name | The name of your service. It appears in the browser tab, in email invitations and calendar entries, and as the app name when the instance is installed on a device. |
| Host name of the meeting application | The address of the instance, for example meet.example.com. Create a DNS CNAME record first; the field shows its target. When you save, the platform sets up the address and its TLS certificate. See Setting up an instance. |
| Marketing URL | Your website. It is linked at the bottom of every email. |
| Leave URL | Where participants without an account are taken after a meeting ends, typically your own website. |
| Support email address | The address your users should contact for help. |
The Marketing URL and the Leave URL can point to a language-specific page. See Texts and languages.
The instance sends invitations, reminders, meeting summaries, password resets and all other system emails through the mail server you enter here.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| From name | The sender name recipients see |
| From email | The sender address recipients see |
| Email username, Email password | The login for your mail server |
| Email host, Email port | Your mail server's address and port. The port decides the encryption: port 465 is encrypted from the start, and on other ports the connection is encrypted with STARTTLS whenever the mail server offers it. |
| Reject invalid SSL certificate | Refuse the connection if the mail server's certificate is not valid. Turn it off only for a server with a self-signed certificate that you trust. |
Use Test email below the section to check the settings. The password is never shown again once saved; the field shows a placeholder, and leaving it unchanged keeps the stored password.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| UI languages | The languages users can choose for the interface |
| Default language | The language the interface opens in the first time a browser visits the instance, when the browser's language is not one of the UI languages. After that, the browser keeps the language it last used, as long as you still offer it. You choose it from the UI languages. Automatic uses English (the entry without a country) if it is offered, otherwise the first UI language by language code. |
| Base timezone | The timezone new users start with. Invitations show the time in the organizer's timezone; calendar entries and the browser show each user's own local time. |
| Region | The data center region whose media servers carry the instance's meetings, chosen from the regions available to you |
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Privacy policy URL | Linked on the login page and on the screen where participants join a meeting |
| Terms and conditions URL | Linked in the same places. If participants have to accept your terms before joining, this is the document they accept. See Meeting room and webinar. |
| Imprint | Linked in the same places |
| Delete expired trial accounts after X days | How many days after its expiry a trial account is marked for deletion. Values below 90 days have no effect. |
| Delete expired paid accounts after X days | The same for paid accounts. A pay-per-meeting account counts as expired once it has no meetings left. |
| Hide participants in the calendar invite and the meeting summary | The default for a new meeting: invitations and calendar files leave out the other invitees' addresses, so participants do not see each other's email addresses. Organizers can change it per meeting. Webinars always hide them. |
| Exclude meeting topics from statistic reports | Stores meeting statistics without the meeting topic, the account name and the room name. On by default. |
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enabled | Switches the notifications on for this level |
| Email address of recipient | Who receives them |
| Notifications | Which ones: an email for every new trial account or white-label trial, and a daily, weekly or monthly account report. The report is a CSV file with one row per instance and the number of active and expired rooms by type. |
System notifications are not inherited. Each level that wants them sets them up for itself.
