Veeting Rooms is a subscription based videoconferencing and collaboration service that is accessible online. The service is aimed at businesses who need to hold virtual video and or audio meetings with customers and colleagues globally and locally. No special hardware or software is required to use it apart from a computer with a camera and a microphone and an internet connection. Veeting Rooms is made available as a SaaS application. It is software that does not have to be downloaded but is simply accessed on the Internet.

Although you may think that this adds up to a cloud service, it in fact can not really be considered as such for one very important reason. That is that normal cloud services spread your data all over the world for reasons of latency to speed up access to your information and in order to ensure that if some data centers become inaccessible they will still be able to retrieve your data in a timely fashion. But they can't say where your data actually resides. In a court of law this makes a difference. We store and backup your meeting documents in more than one location but only in one jurisdiction, Switzerland. You know exactly where they are and you can prove it in court if necessary.

The usefulness and benefits of videoconferencing are well known. The ability to communicate with customers and stakeholders remotely with clear audio and video streams is valued for the convenience it provides, the resources saved and the travel hassle it reduces. There are many services available to choose from, large and small. Free services such as Skype and Google Hangouts for instance are well known and easily accessible but are not always ideal for businesses who need security and support and who who want a service that doesn't require all your meeting participants to be permanently on your call list.

Veeting Rooms is a secure service that addresses many of these issues and provides additional tangible benefits.

For instance Veeting Rooms is a secure browser based service which essentially means that it is always available on the Internet. There is nothing to download in order for you to start using it. This also means that updates and new features are seamlessly made available and there is no need to mobilize your IT department to test or install anything. Email support is available and for larger accounts, telephone support also. We keep your email addresses private and we encrypt all your communications whether audio or video.

All your meeting participants will appreciate the ease with which they will be able to communicate with you since there is nothing to do on their end except click on a meeting link that you send them. The meeting will immediately start in their default browser after requesting their permission to share their camera and microphone. It really is this easy to use.

And that's not all. In addition to the online meetings you also have a suite of collaboration tools available that you can use during your meeting. Documents can be uploaded ahead of time or during your meeting. Your participants can download these of course or you can display them onscreen and annotate them together. Tools include a whiteboard, private and shared text chat, meeting minutes and desktop sharing. And at the end of the meeting the system will mail everyone all the documents and their respective private and shared notes and minutes.

Veeting Rooms makes its service available on a pay as you go, a monthly or yearly subscription and also a variable corporate contract basis.

The pay as you go option allows you to buy blocks of meetings that you can use at any time. You can buy a block and use them in six months time and each meeting has a time limit of 12 hours, enough for any collaboration! The larger the block of meetings you buy, the cheaper is the per meeting cost allowing you to budget precisely. And with a pay as you go option you can have as many meeting organizers as you want. This means that you can allow everyone in your company to schedule meetings for themselves and invite participants. This is useful if you don't know how many people will use the meetings and how often. The system will keep track of your usage and allow you to top up from your account page.

The monthly and yearly subscriptions are designed to allow you to have unlimited meetings per meeting organizer. This is perfect if you need to assign meeting capability to a department or a group of employees and want to budget a fixed cost per month. Purchasing additional subscriptions will allow you to have concurrent meetings. So two monthly subscriptions will allow you to have two concurrent meetings going on at any time of the day.

Signing up to the trial account will give you two weeks to try out the full service. There are no feature restrictions whatsoever and essentially you are able to start using the service immediately without your credit card on file.

After your two week trial is over and you decide that you would like to sign up you can simply convert your trial account to a either a pay as you go account or a monthly or yearly subscription.

If you find that you need more time to evaluate the service we would be happy to extend the trial for a further two weeks giving you a whole month to try it out. Simply contact us and request an extension.

User questions

If you are using Google Chrome on a Windows PC you might have an issue with the application specific volume control of your operating system. To adjust the volume for Google Chrome on a Windows PC, follow these easy steps:

Step 1: Locate and right click on the volume control icon in your Windows system tray (the collection of icons to the right side of the taskbar).

Step 2: Select Open Volume Mixer from the list that appears. From the window that appears you can adjust the volumes of any application currently open on your computer.

Step 3: Find the Google Chrome application and adjust its associated volume slider.

The meeting URL is a unique link to your meeting. You can send this link to your meeting participants. Once they click on the link, they are automatically directed to your meeting room.

When you join a meeting and start a video or audio session, your browser will ask you for permission to access the microphone and camera of your computer. You must grant our service access to your camera and your microphone if you wish to join the audio and video conversation.

Private meeting rooms allow you to share documents up to a combined size of your entire available store. Individual document sizes are limited to 50mb.

Up to five endpoints can join a Standard meeting. Up to 30 endpoints can join a Boardroom meeting. Up to 50 endpoints can join a Webinar meeting. The number of individual attendees participating at each endpoint is your choice.

When you create an account, you will define at least one account administrator. These administrators will be the main account holders and are responsible for payments and for managing your team. An account administrator can grant access to your meeting rooms to as many team members as you like. Any member who has access to your meeting rooms is called a "meeting organizer". A meeting organizer can schedule and manage meetings, upload and delete documents. However, only an account administrator can make further payments or add meeting organizers.

The Veeting Rooms application works on all platforms where these browsers are available, except on iOS where only Safari is supported.

Recent Android versions support all the web browsers that can be used to access our service. (Be aware that joining a meeting via a mobile device will use data from your data plan!) You can join a meeting with Safari and the latest iOS version too.

We take in-depth precautions to maintain privacy. All communication between your browser and the servers use 256-bit TLS encryption. This is the same technology used by online banks and shopping sites. We don't serve data from other servers than our own. Audio and video conversation is entirely encrypted by the DTLS-SRTP standard. We hash every password in our database with individual salt.

All our servers are physically located in Switzerland and managed by a Swiss hosting provider. We use a Swiss company for payment processing. All data served to you while using Veeting Rooms are entirely served out of Switzerland. You receive the benefit of an entire service that is protected by Swiss laws.

We use customer data only for technical debugging of our service offering and for anonymous usage statistics that we use internally in our company to improve our service. We will never access or read your data internally or externally. We will never give 3rd parties access to your data. We do not share your data with anyone except when we are legally obliged to do so under Swiss law. Please refer to our privacy policy for more information.
